1986 Pontiac Fiero was the third model year of the Pontiac Fiero.

The 1986 Fiero continued the mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout used throughout Fiero production.
A major visual change for this year was the introduction of the fastback-style GT. Earlier Fieros used the notchback rear body style, while the fastback GT introduced a different rear clip, sail panels, decklid, tail lights, and rear body appearance.
The fastback 1986 GT is commonly, but not officially, referred to by enthusiasts as the 1986.5 GT or 86.5 GT. This informal name is used to distinguish it from the earlier 1986 GT notchback. In factory terms, both cars are part of the 1986 model year.
