2.8L V6 refers to the factory V6 engine used in the Pontiac Fiero from 1985 through 1988.

The Fiero 2.8L V6 was part of GM's 60-degree V6 engine family. It was not a Fiero-only engine, but the Fiero version was adapted for the car's transverse mid-engine layout and used multi-port fuel injection.

Overview

The 2.8L V6 was introduced in the Fiero for the 1985 model year. It gave the Fiero a factory performance engine option and was used in sportier models such as the GT, SE, and later the Formula.

Compared with the 2.5L four-cylinder Iron Duke, the 2.8L V6 offered more power, a different exhaust note, and a more performance-oriented character.
