Body panels
Body panels is an overview of the exterior body panels used on the Pontiac Fiero.
The Fiero uses a steel space frame with removable composite exterior body panels. This construction allows many exterior panels to be removed, replaced, repaired, or swapped without being structural parts of the chassis.
Overview
The Fiero body system includes the front fascia, rear fascia, fenders, doors, quarter panels, roof panel, decklid, hood, rocker panels, sail panels, ground effects, trim, moldings, and related mounting hardware.
Body panels may differ by model year, trim level, and body style. Some panels are shared between models, while others are specific to notchback, fastback, aero, coupe, SE, GT, or Formula variants.
Space frame and composite panels
The Fiero's exterior panels are mounted to a steel space frame. The body panels provide the car's exterior shape but are not the primary structural frame of the car.

Notchback and fastback body styles
Fieros were produced with both notchback and fastback rear body styles. The fastback GT body style uses a different rear clip, sail panels, decklid, tail lights, and related trim compared with notchback models.
