Engine is an overview of the engines used in the Pontiac Fiero.
The Fiero was available with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and a 2.8L V6 engine during its production run from 1984 through 1988.
Factory engines
2.5L four-cylinder
The 2.5L four-cylinder engine, commonly known as the Iron Duke, was available throughout Fiero production.
It was used as the base engine and was originally chosen for economy, reliability, and commuter-car use.

The 2.8L V6 was introduced for the 1985 model year and was used in performance-oriented Fiero models including the GT, SE, and Formula.
The Fiero 2.8L V6 was part of GM's 60-degree V6 engine family rather than a Fiero-only engine. It was adapted for the Fiero's transverse mid-engine layout and used multi-port fuel injection.
